Seacoast Photography School on the Cover of City Lifestyle Portsmouth
You may have spotted us around town and online this month. Seacoast Photography School and David Mazur made the cover of the April 2026 issue of City Lifestyle Portsmouth, and we could not be more excited to share it with you.
The feature, titled "Learn, Laugh, Photograph," digs into what makes SPS such a special place to learn. David talked about his approach to teaching, the idea that photography is a relationship, not a transaction, and why slowing down and really seeing your subject changes everything. The article covers the full range of what we offer, from beginner one-on-one sessions and six-week courses to destination workshops in Acadia, Vermont, Yellowstone, and Iceland, and of course, the monthly Street Series right here in Portsmouth, NH.
Instructor Susan Weigold also gets a well-deserved spotlight, with a look at her work with young photographers, homeschool students, and children with learning differences, including a stop-motion animation program that brings everyday objects to life on screen.
Many of you already know this from your own experience with us, but the article puts it beautifully. Students come to Seacoast Photography School to find purpose and mindfulness as much as to learn photography. You arrive in auto mode and leave shooting manual. You learn to slow down, look closely, and photograph the light rather than the subject.
We are so grateful to be part of this community, and even more grateful that you are part of ours.

Did You Get Out And Shoot This Weekend?
When you sat down to review your photos, did any of these sound familiar?
☐ My images aren’t as sharp as I thought
☐ I’m guessing on aperture, shutter speed, and ISO
☐ My photos don’t match what I saw
☐ I don’t fully understand light yet
☐ My edits feel inconsistent
☐ I need a reset (or honestly…a starting point)
☐ I want to feel more confident behind the camera
If you checked any of the boxes, you’re not alone, and you don’t need a full course to fix it.
That’s exactly why we created Pick Your Week at Seacoast Photography School. Take a live online 2-hour session that focuses on specific lessons each week, including cameras and gear, light, focus, composition, editing, and websites.
