Create Images That Tell a Story Through Light, Shape, and Simplicity

Still life photography is one of the most meditative and creatively liberating genres. Instructor:

David Mazur is a photographer, educator, and creative director whose work blends technical precision with the quiet poetry of everyday objects. As the founder of Seacoast Photography School, David has built a reputation for teaching photographers how to see before they shoot, helping students transform ordinary scenes into compelling visual stories.

With over 20 years of professional experience, David brings a unique blend of artistic sensibility, commercial awareness, and mindful observation to his still life instruction. His approach is rooted in simplicity: slow down, study the light, and uncover the character within the frame. Whether working with natural window light, controlled studio setups, or improvised home environments, David teaches participants how to shape mood, texture, and depth with intention.

His workshops are known for being hands-on, inspiring, and accessible. Students walk away with a deeper understanding of composition, lighting, styling, and camera control—along with the confidence to create gallery-worthy still life images using whatever tools they have.

David’s philosophy is simple: the story is already there; the photographer learns to reveal it. His guidance helps photographers train their eye, refine their craft, and tap into the joy of creating images that feel both timeless and personal.
