What You’ll Learn:
· Suggested camera settings
· Selecting the right focal length
· Master the art of composing captivating street scenes
· Explore techniques for framing and creating a mood.
· Learn techniques for capturing authentic, spontaneous moments
· Explore the architectural wonders that make Portsmouth unique
· Learn to use buildings, streets, and landmarks as dramatic backdrops.
What You’ll Need:
· Smartphone, Compact, DSLR or Mirrorless Camera
· Appropriate footwear and outerwear
· Medium Focal Length Lens 35mm - 85mm
Pre-Walk In-Class Session 4:00
· Prior to hitting the streets, we will meet in a classroom setting located in Downtown Portsmouth to discuss camera settings and techniques
· We will discuss how to shoot the decisive moment to tell a story
· A handout will be provided for you to practice what you learned during the session to:
· Create Mood and Atmosphere: Use light, shadow, and texture to evoke specific emotions and create a compelling atmosphere.
· Narrative and Simplicity: Focus on minimalist subjects that communicate a clear story or feeling.
· Storytelling Capture Emotion Close-ups: Capture intricate details, such as patterns, surfaces, or textures, to reveal hidden beauty.
This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels, whether you're an intermediate or just starting your journey into the world of street photography.
