We'll gather at the Portland Museum of Art at 5:00 PM to observe how master artists use light and color to shape mood, movement, and meaning. This informal walking tour will highlight how painters and visual storytellers influence emotional response through composition and chromatic choices. These are powerful tools that photographers can apply behind the lens.
At 6:00 PM, we’ll attend a special lecture spotlighting the work of legendary photographer Gordon Parks and his profound connection to Maine’s cultural and artistic landscape. Parks’ imagery transcends documentation. It’s storytelling with soul, framed through social justice, dignity, and the power of presence.
