When Motion Meets Focus, Photography Comes Alive

Photography is more than pressing the shutter. It’s about understanding how motion and focus shape an image.

In this two-day workshop, you will photograph eagles and osprey in flight during the alewife run, learning how to control shutter speed to capture wildlife in motion. Then shift to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens to explore aperture and the artistry of depth of field.

From Eagles in Flight to Garden Detail

Imagine capturing an eagle in flight sharply, then creating beautiful depth and focus in a botanical garden. This workshop is designed to help you do both.

Over two days in Boothbay Harbor from May 15-17, 2026, you will strengthen two of the most important photography skills: controlling motion and shaping depth. With hands-on instruction and direct feedback, you will leave with stronger images and greater confidence using your camera.

  • Small group learning
  • Two nights' accommodation included
  • Guided instruction in two iconic Maine locations
  • Perfect for beginner and intermediate photographers

Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience personal and hands on.

IMPORTANT PREPARATION NOTE:

If you are not yet confident with the Exposure Triangle (the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO), we strongly recommend scheduling a private one-on-one session before the workshop.
