Seacoast Photography School, located in York, Maine, is renowned as the premier photography resource in the seacoast area. Whether you are a beginner or an intermediate photographer, attending a lesson or walking tour will enhance your skills to capture compelling images.

As a guest of Cliff House, you are invited to take advantage of our exclusive private one-on-one 2-hour sessions. These sessions are available seven days a week, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, providing you with flexible scheduling options.

During your session, you have the choice of three breathtaking locations. You can opt to explore the spectacular grounds of the Cliff House itself, taking advantage of its unique features and stunning coastal views. Alternatively, you can choose to venture to the picturesque Perkins Cove and Marginal Way, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of this scenic area. Another option is the iconic Nubble Lighthouse, a picturesque location that is recognized as the most photographed lighthouse in Maine.

Our expert instructors will guide you through personalized instruction, sharing their knowledge and techniques to help you capture the perfect shot. Whether you are looking to improve your composition, master lighting, or improve overall image quality, our instructors are here to assist you every step of the way.

Cliff House Tours

  • Perkins Cove / Marginal Way

    Perkins Cove was originally a small fishing community and artists’ colony, the Cove is a charming area that consists of local independent shops, restaurants and scenic outlooks. Hugged by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and a small harbor on the other side. Photo ops include: a crashing surf, footbridge, a busy harbor, bustling lobster boats and tourists.
    Marginal Way Ocean Walk is one of Maine’s most beloved scenic coastal walks offering exceptional views of Ogunquit's rocky coast. This paved and gently graded footpath has several cut-outs which allow you to take a moment to enjoy a variety of excellent ocean views. There are benches placed strategically along the way Marginal Way, is an elevated cliff walk along the ocean. A photographer's paradise.

    Using your own transportation, turn right leaving the resort, Perkins Cove is 15 minutes from the Cliff House. Allow time for parking.

  • Cliff House Resort

    In this lesson you will learn-by-doing. Develop your ability to train your eye and use your camera or smart phone in different ways to level up as a photographer. We will photograph the majestic Bald Head Cliff using proven composition methods. Also, photographing the unique architecture of the resort, we will learn how shapes, contrast and patterns can enhance a photo. You will see the resort from the many different perspectives.

  • Nubble Lighthouse

    Cape Neddick Light Station, “The Nubble”, sits on a high headland reaching out into the Atlantic. The 39 foot light tower is iron lined with brick. The lantern has eight panes of glass, four ruby colored facing the land and the remainder, white, exposed to the ocean.

    The Nubble Lighthouse is a famous American icon and a classic example of a Maine lighthouse. It is considered one of the most photographed lighthouses in America. It has become a mecca for artists and tourists because of its picturesque location and accessibility from the mainland. The Voyager spacecraft, which carries photographs of Earth's most prominent man-made structures and natural features, includes a photo of Nubble Lighthouse with images of the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal.

    Using your own transportation, turn left onto Shore Road leaving the resort, The Nubble is 15 minutes from the Cliff House. Allow time for parking.
